1.Course introduction

Faculty of Health Sciences, Thammasat University has developed the Bachelor of Science Program, Public Health Undergraduate level at Rangsit Center since the academic year 2007. There are 3 majors (1) Occupational Health and Safety (2) Environmental Health and (3) Health Promotion. Later in the academic year 2016, the Bachelor of Science course was opened. In order to expand the opportunities for providing educational services with a modernized curriculum development to people in the northern region, teaching and learning were organized at TU. Lampang campus. The program consists of 3 majors which are 1) Environmental Health 2) Occupational Health and Safety and 3) Community Health.

 

2.Course objectives

  • 2.1 The program aims to produce students with knowledge, ability and skills in anticipation, awareness, assessment and control of environmental hazards in the workplace as well as incident control for work safety which can be applied to the profession as well.
  • 2.2 The program focuses on knowledge in environmental health science and related sciences. Students are able to integrate knowledge in science and public health in monitoring, surveillance, prevention and control of environmental factors that affect human health.
  • 2.3 Students are able to analyze environmental health problems occurring by surveying, examining, collecting and analyzing data to identify problems and assess the impact on the environment and health.
  • 2.4 Students potentially become a leader in the public health profession with knowledge, responsibility, morality and ethics, respect for human dignity.
  • 2.5 Students are encouraged to think systematically, logically, analyze and synthesize the health situation of the community in a holistic manner.
  • 2.6 Students are able to plan to solve problems and perform public health work creatively and efficiently with communities and related agencies as required by law.
  • 2.7 Students are able to manage health and public health services that respond to the health needs of the population in their responsible community.
  • 2.8 The graduates are able to provide public health services and health promotion and disease prevention services to people and other agencies.

 

3. Course format

  • 3.1 Faculty of Public Health, Lampang Campus offers 3 courses

    • 3.1.2 Bachelor of Science Program, Environmental Health Program
    • 3.1.3 Bachelor of Science Program, Community Health Program
  • 3.2 Teaching and learning are conducted in Thai.
  • 3.3 Only Thai students accepted.

11. Qualifications of Examination Eligibility

Genereal Specification: Common specification
  1. Applicants must have the determination to study full-time and will strictly comply with the regulations of the university
  2. Applicants are those have not yet had the right to study in any higher education institution in the past
  3. Not being a student of a university or other higher education institution unless studying at an open university or distance education (Online) with a degree.
  4. Not being a patient or being in a condition that will be a major obstacle to education.
  5. Not being a person who violates good morals or has serious behavioral issues.
Genereal Specification: Common specification
  1. Graduated from Matthayom 6 in the general science-mathematics field only
  2. Having a GPA of no less than 2.75
Specialization in Occupational Health and Safety Program

   1. A person must show that he/she has no vision problems by submitting a medical certificate issued by a public hospital on the interview day and must not have vision problems as follows:

1.1 Severe color blindness on both sides.

1.2 Having an abnormality in vision as follows:

1) Eyesight is normal when treated with glasses but still has eyesight less than 6/24 on both sides.

2) Good eyesight lower than 6/12, when it is the best solution.

1.3 Cannot see images in three dimensions

   2. No fingerprints and unable to control the equipment.
